Payment
What does the course cost?
This depends on the module you’d like to use, as well as the length of the licence. Longer licences have a lower price per month. For extra discount, consider purchasing a bundle of multiple modules together.
How can I pay?
By creditcard, PayPal, SEPA and iDEAL.
Is there VAT included in the price?
Yes, it depends on your country what the exact VAT is. At checkout you can view the VAT for your area.
Can my company pay?
Yes, we can bill your employer directly. To do so, contact us at info@dutchready.com.
Can I pay in terms?
Yes, a monthly license is also available.
Will the subscription be automatically renewed? What happens after the 6/12 month term?
The subscription will be automatically renewed.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription on the ‘my account’ page. Simply go to the subscription tab and click the cancel button.
Will I lose my progress if I cancel my subscription and buy a new subscription again later?
No, your progress will be saved. If you purchase a subscription again later, you can see all your previous answers and progress as well.
What happens if I don't pay for my renewal on time?
Your subscription will be cancelled and you’ll no longer be able to access the modules.

Can we provide access to the e-learning for our team / employees?
Yes. Please contact us at info@dutchready.com to receive a custom quote for your organisation.
Will I still have access to the chapters I already did?
Yes, you can still access previous chapters and even retake quizzes as much as you like.
How do I access my self-study course?
After you purchases the e-learning an account will be created for you automatically. You can access them by going to the my account page and clicking on the desired module.
Can I use my phone to do the e-learning?
It is possible to do the self-study course on your phone. But we recommend using a pc.
Can I share my account with friends?
A licence provides access for 1 person, as personal progress and assignments are tracked.
How long can I use the modules?
There are licences for 6 or 12 months, as well as a monthly subscription. As long as the subscription is paid and renewed you can access the modules at any time.

What’s the difference between the A0-A1 and A1-A2 modules?
The A0-A1 module is for complete beginners and guides you to A1 level. The A1-A2 module continues where the A0-A1 ends, starting at A1 and guiding you to A2 level.
What is the e-learning bundle?
The e-learning bundle contains multiple modules with a nice discount.
How long does it take to complete the course?
Each module contains about 50-60 hours of explanations, examples and exercises.
What exactly is the sound module?
The sound module is specially designed to help you correctly identify and pronounce the various sounds in the Dutch language. Explanation by a licensed speech therapist as well as lots of examples and quizzes.
What if I need longer than the subscription period to finish a module?
If you don’t cancel your subscription, your subscription will be automatically renewed. So you can set your own pace.
How do I know which e-learning module to take?
For starting learners the A0-A1 or A0-A2 bundle is recommended. For more advanced learners the A1-A2 or pronunciation (sound) module is a better fit. Need some advice? You can send your questions to info@dutchready.com
Can I combine the e-learning with live lessons?
Yes! In fact, we recommend it. The e-learning can be used both as homework as well as a learning tool inside the lessons. You can decide together with your tutor if / how you’d like to include the online modules in your lessons.
Can I use the self-study course to prep for the Inburgering exam?
At this moment, expats who want to take the inburgering exam need to do so on level A2. The A0-A2 (or A1-A2 course, if you’re not a complete beginner) is useful for your preparation. The course contains extensive grammar and practice exercises, as well as exercises in listening, reading, writing and speaking.
Is a final test included in the modules?
You continuously receive feedback on all the answers you make, so you can closely monitor your progress. A final test is not included in the module.
Can I navigate the whole course freely?
Yes, it’s possible to navigate through the course, back and forward. You can freely navigate each lesson of the e-learning module. That way, you always have the possibility to check grammar you previously learned.
Lessons / Guidance
Can my tutor see my scores/answers?
You don’t need a tutor for the e-learning, extensive answer models are provided for each grammar and practical assignment. If you prefer personal feedback from a tutor, you can consider private lessons.
Will I receive feedback on the assignments?
You can check the answers of each assignment by using the answer models that are provided after completing each exercise.
Will there be a tutor?
The e-learning does not include a tutor. If you prefer working with a tutor on your private language goals, Dutch Ready also offers online and face to face private lessons.

What is the difference between e-learning and a regular course book?
An e-learning course is interactive and keeps you as a student much more engaged than a regular course book. This greatly benefits the learning process. Also, additions are immediately available, without the need to pay for it.
What if I’m unsure if the self-study course is right for me?
We recommend starting with the free trial version to explore the self-study course, or a monthly subscription if you are unsure.
What to do in case of technical issues?

When can I start the self-study course?
Once you buy an e-learning module, the content is immediately available to you. That means you can start your Dutch course right away.
How does it work?
Access your personal account anytime, anywhere. Interactive and inductive explanations of all topics to help you fully understand everything. Personal progress is tracked so you know which exercises and parts you’ve completed. Quizes provide direct feedback and model answers to help you improve.
Do I receive a certificate?
After completing the e-learning course, you will receive a certificate.
What language is used in the course?
The explanations in the e-learning are all offered in Dutch and English. That way, you can immerse yourself in the language you want to learn, but always have a backup for when things get a bit too challenging.

When and how do I pay for my Dutch beginner course?
Payment is to be made in advance by bank transfer or Ideal. You can pay the full amount of the course either in 1 go, or choose to pay in 2 or 3 terms (available for the Popular & Premium package). We will of course provide you with an invoice.
Is VAT included in the lesson price?
Even better: Dutch lessons are completely tax free as determined by the Dutch government. Easy as that!
Can my company pay for my Dutch beginner lessons?
Definitely. All we need are your company’s invoice details and the email address of the person handling finances. The invoice for your Dutch beginner lessons will then get sent directly to them.
How long is lesson credit valid?
Lesson credits are valid for 3-9 months, depending on the package you choose. Within these 3-9 months you have the freedom to schedule lessons when and where you want, making it possible to pause your course for a few weeks should that become necessary. Simply can’t find a way to complete your course in time? We’ll be happy to discuss the possibilities of extending your credits whenever necessary.
How do I know if Dutch Ready is right for me?
If you’re goal is to speak with confidence we’re here to help. To learn effectively you need to embrace making mistakes and truly become interested in what you’re trying to learn. Our tutors create a safe learning environment and guide you towards exercise material that is relevant to your personal interests.
Where do lessons take place?
Lessons take place online, or at your home or office. Whichever you prefer. If you’re the adventurous type, many of our tutors are happy to show you the city during your lessons as well.
Which platform do you use for online video lessons?
You get to decide together with your teacher which online platform works best for the both of you. This can range from Skype to Zoom to Google Meet.
How do you give online lessons?
The platforms we use vary from Google Meet to Zoom to Teams and Skype. It’s really up to you and your teacher to find one that fits both of you best. In terms of content, through use of screen sharing, combined workspaces and the like we’re able to offer a learning experience much like face-to-face lessons. All with the benefits of being online.
How do I schedule lessons?
During your intake you can decide when and where you want lessons. You also decide lesson length and frequency, though we do recommend 2 lessons of 1.5 hours each week for the best results. Lessons are planned directly with your tutor and can be cancelled up to 48 hours in advance.
What if you can't find a tutor?
We’ll always try our best to find a tutor for your preferred time and location. If we can’t find a fitting tutor, we’ll suggest alternative lesson scheduling, or fully refund the trial purchase.
Can I switch tutors?
Yes. Finding the right chemistry is key. That’s why we offer a discounted trial lesson to get to know your tutor. If your tutor’s style isn’t a great fit, let us know. We’ll plan a second trial lesson with a new tutor free of charge. We’ll always help you find the perfect replacement so you can make the most of your lessons.
How much homework is there?
Our first question would be: how much homework do you want? Some of our students simply can’t find the time in their busy lives and that is absolutely ok! We work based on your schedule and not the other way around. Want to keep practicing outside of the lessons? Your teacher will discuss with you the amount and type of homework that is suitable for you.
Can you help me with training for the Inburgering or NT2 exam?
We definitely can! Our teachers have plenty of experience with preparing students for their Dutch language exams. We can determine your current level together before the start of the online course, where after we help you gain the knowledge you still need to pass your exam.
What if I miss a lesson?
Don’t worry, you won’t. Lessons can be cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours in advance. Cancellations within 48 hours will be billed in full. Also, you can decide your own lesson time, so lessons will always be convenient in your busy schedule.
How long does a course take?
We offer the possibility to choose a 10 -, 20 – or 40 hour lesson package. As you decide on the frequency and length of your Dutch lessons, your course-length can vary from 2 weeks up to 9 months. That’s up to you! Your lesson credit is available for 3-9 months depending on your lesson package. Each package includes at least 10 weeks more than necessary, so you have plenty of time to complete your Dutch course.
Do you provide conversation lessons??
Yes we do! If you wish to improve your Dutch conversational skills, we will make sure that your lessons will focus on speaking primarily. Get ready for lots of talking in Dutch! More info on our conversation courses can be found here.
Will I learn any grammar during my Dutch conversation lessons?
If you come to class as a beginner student, then some grammar will most likely come into play to explain certain sentence structures and conjugations. Grammar is still at the basis of speaking. If you already know some Dutch however and really wish to focus only on speaking, then grammar will only be discussed when necessary to improve your speaking skills. Your teacher will discuss the various options with you and will listen to your needs and wants, making your lessons completely customized and focused on your personal language goals.
Will I need some basic Dutch conversation skills before starting the course?
No that’s not necessary at all! Our private conversation lessons are suitable for every level, regardless if you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced speaker.
Which lesson materials do you use?
We use our own customized materials that support our teaching method. Every lesson and student is different, that’s why we don’t work with fixed textbooks. If however you wish to work with books of your own, we’d be happy to use them during our conversation lessons to complement the materials we already have.
How does the payment for my conversation lessons work?
We send you an invoice before the start of your lesson package, which you can pay by bank transfer. Our Popular & Premium Packages are also payable in 2 or 3 terms, of which the first term is to be paid before your first lesson. Has your company agreed to pay for your Dutch conversation course? That’s great! All we need are their company details and email address, and we’ll send the invoice directly to them.
